Understanding and Socialization of Government Regulation (PP) No. 22/2010 on Mining Area and PP No. 23/2010 on Implementation of Mineral and Coal Mining Business Activity
The regulations provide operational guidelines for the implementation of the Mineral and Coal Law No. 4/2009. As such, they aim to create legal certainty in the mining industry.
There are many crucial issues addressed in the two regulations. They include the amount of stake foreign investors are obliged to sell to domestic investors, solutions of problems caused by overlaps of licenses issued by the central and regional governments, procedures of mining business license issuance and mining area tender.
